Burning season runs annually from January 15 through May 1.
2. How do I apply for a burning permit?
Permits are issued at Fire Headquarters, 126 Elm Street, Monday -Friday from 8:30 a.m. through
4:30 p.m. and certain Saturday mornings from 9:00 a.m. through noon beginning on January 15 of each year
3. What is the fee for a burning permit?
There is a $10.00 fee for the permit. You can use this as often as you need to throughout the burning season.
4. How do I apply for a smoke detector inspection?
Smoke detector inspections are usually required when selling/buying a home. It is the seller's responsibility to obtain
the inspection. Contact the Fire Department business office at 508-865-5328 to make arrangements for an inspection
or stop in the office. Fee: $25.00 per unit.
