The Board of Health Office accepts mercury thermometers, button batteries, mercury switches, thermostats, and bottles and jars of loose mercury. HELPFUL HINTS FROM THE BOARD OF HEALTH COOKIES STUCK TO THE COOKIE SHEET? Take some dental floss and slide it between the cookie and the cookie sheet and they should come off the sheet unbroken! LOWERING OVEN HEAT WHEN BAKING When you bake, your oven heat can be lowered by 25% if you are using ceramic or glass baking dishes.  Glass and ceramic retain heat better than metal pans and dishes.
